It’s Not Good Enough to Write Your Goals Down

To really be able to focus on your goals you must refine them to the smallest common denominator.

Write out your goals then take your goals one at a time and work backwards with the goal.

If you are a Realtor and want to sell X number of houses or make X number of dollars this year you must first realize how many listings you must have to sell a home, how many customers looking to buy a home to actually sell one. How you will get your customers or listings. What form of prospecting you plan to do. How many prospects you will contact each day to give you how many contracts you will get per week to how many homes you will sell each week. You must know what your daily method of operation is going to be.

Quitters, Campers and Climbers

There’s a story told about a mountain in the Swiss Alps.

Half way up this mountain there is a stop called the Halfway House, named this because it was located exactly halfway up one of the mountains. People climbing the peak would stop to rest before continuing on their journey. About half of the climbers would say, “Hey, we’re just going to wait here. We’re going to settle in. The rest of you go on ahead and we’ll catch you on the way back.” Everyday about half of the climbers would go on up the mountain and the other half would linger behind. Those who chose to remain would wave goodbye to the others and then they’d spend the next hour or so playing games, relaxing and talking, and indulging in more coffee and desserts. But around 3:30 or 4:00 in the afternoon, something always happened among the group that decided to stay behind.

Members of the group would begin to go over to the large picture window, look up at the top of the peak, and wonder about the others.

After my good friend and mentor Darrell Utterbach passed, I started thinking about how many lives he effected and the impact he had on future generations.

I started to realize the impact we have in the industry I’m in to affect lives I will never know.The impact of a man like Darrell on my life,  just one person in the many is staggering.

I realized we not only have an obligation, but also an opportunity. The obligation is to the people out there looking for HOPE. The opportunity is- there are people out there that God has given them a dream and this business will help them accomplish that dream. If you are not the link in the chain that will lead this business opportunity to them someone else will. Gods’ dream will find a way.

What is the Middle Class America Going to Do?

Middle Class America, what are you going to do?

I have been saying for sometime now, that the Home Business industry will see a very large growth in the next five to 10 years.

WHY?

The middle class America has been shrinking for many years and most will not notice it. After the BIG bust of the economy, people are starting to realize that they must do something different.

Manufacturing has changed and it’s finally catching up to us. With robots and computers making more products with the massive automation of factories and the outsourcing of jobs over seas. What once took 10 or 30 people to make something now it takes one to five. Just think how many people it took to make a car 30 years ago and how many it takes now. The transformation is staggering. Outsourcing is becoming a very big problem for middle class America . According to economist the U.S. currently doesn’t produce any television sets. Computer manufacturing in the U.S. employs about 166,000 people; in 1975 it employed almost 300,000. Asia’s computer manufacturing has about 1.5 million people.

Goal Setting

First off you have to set goals. I’m not getting into that right now, we know we should be setting goals. What I want to talk about is how to.

I would like to give you a little advice on how to set your goals

If the goal is to make a million dollars a year and you have only made 50k a year or if you want to reach that triple diamond level in your business, but you have never reached the 1000 level. Think about this, the subconscious can only see so far in advance.  If you have never made over 50k a year, when you say or write down that you want to make 1 million a year, your subconscious cannot believe that. You must break down the goal in increments that your subconscious can see.

Goals, Dreams, and Commitment

Commitment is key. Commitment to your goals, your dreams, and your family.

What are you committed to?  What does commitment mean to you?

The more committed to your daily method of operation the more successful you will become. Your  daily method of operation (DMO) is the key to reaching your goals. Commitment is the ability to do whatever it takes to get the job done. If you let yourself slide today on your commitment to your DMO it will be easier to slide next week as well. The more you compromise on your commitment the easier it will become.

The lack of commitment will continue to other areas of your life. As you stay committed to your commitment it will become easier to stay committed.

Commitment without faith will frustrate you. Faith without action is a wish. Action without purpose is meaningless.

The great thing about skills is they can be learned. Network marketing is not about talent. I have seen a lot of very talented people never make a dime in MLM. I have seen a lot of committed people make very little money. At least committed people will stay actively doing something until they figure it out or get lucky. And yes luck has a lot to do with it, but you make your luck with activity.

Who is Stealing Your Dream

Have you ever talked to your brother-in-law or your brother and they explained all the reasons why Network Marketing doesn’t work. I bet they can explain reasons why a lot of things don’t work. That’s because he’s a loser.

Has he ever built a large network? If not, he’s the last person in the world you should be taking advice from.

Just because your Uncle John was in Amway for two months doesn’t make him an expert. And just because your cousins Billy Bob had a neighbor in one of those things for two weeks five years ago and they never made any money, doesn’t qualify them to teach you about success.

Most of us have someone that has told us time and time again that no one makes money at Netwark Marketing. As bad as this sounds, the fact is that most MLMers learn how to stay away from Uncle Herb and cousins Pookie and Ray-Ray. That’s the easy part for most. After the first couple times with them it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out- just don’t go near them.
