Prospecting for Gold is like Prospecting for Business

How I relate prospecting for gold and prospecting for business together.

So I’m sitting here getting an itch to go hunt some gold. It’s time to go do a dredginglittle bit of gold mining. One of  my favorite hobby is hunting gold. I either go metal detecting for gold or I’ve got a gold dredge. Gold dredging is where you vacuum suck up the bottom of the river and run it though a sluice box gold. So I’m sitting here thinking when am I going to be able to go hunt some gold again and I started thinking about the analogy of prospecting for business prospecting for gold. There are a lot of similarities.
I started thinking about prospecting either for gold or for business.  Whether you’re looking for a business associate or you’re in MLM / network marketing, prospecting goes hand-in-hand in gold mining and business. When I’m prospecting for gold I’m out there looking for a certain place. A certain area, with certain conditions. There’re certain things that I’m looking for to better my chances of finding gold. When I’m out prospecting for my business then once again I’m looking for a certain situation,certain people, certain type of conditions within a person or a place that I can either find people to find that certain type of person that I’m looking for or ways of prospecting.

The definition of prospecting is seeking out.

When you’re seeking out either gold or silver or Gems or maybe like one of my other Hobbies, metal detecting for old coins and old areas of California. I’m seeking out situations to better my chances of success in prospecting Gold. And when prospecting for people I’m seeking out as well. When I’m building my my network marketing business or I am building my other businesses and I’m looking for associates, I’m seeking out the right person.  You’re putting yourself in a position to find what you’re looking for. Whether you’re cold calling, doing mixers, chamber events or prospecting as you go  (I call friendship farming).

Friendship farming is a way of meeting people practicing the art of hunting, let me rephrase that practice in the art of friendship farming . Friedship farming is just creating contacts. Building relationships an communications with people you do not know yet. Whether you’re going to the garden store and just striking up conversations with people with no intention prospect. When Friendship farming you’re practicing the skill of creating friendships. Friendship farming is one of the best ways of prospecting when you’re building a business where you’re looking for recruits or Associates. Now when I am prospecting for gold I want to make sure that I’m in a gold bearing rivers or Creeks. If I’m dredging  on my claim there’s a lot of gold in my claim there’s a lot spots that hold gold better then other spots. Like a bend in the river or a big boulders in the river. So I’m going to position my dredge in a place that’s going to give me the best chances of finding gold. When I’m metal detecting for gold I want to make sure I’m in a place that gold has been found before. History repeats itself there’s a lot of maps a lot of history here in California that show that there is gold in certain areas so I want to position myself where the gold has been found before. You have to give myself a better chance of finding gold.
Prospecting for gold is like prospecting for business

So when I’m out prospecting or friendship farming for my business then I’m going to put myself in a position to where I can find people looking. I also want to make sure I have the skills needed so I’m going to practice the art of relationships are communicating with people. If I am cold calling I want to make sure that I’m cold calling people in the demographics that I am looking for. The type of person I’m looking . One of my main business is right now is in the financial industry so I want to look for certain types of person, a certain age group. Maybe married with children and own a home. Things like that possibly will put me in the position that I can find the person that I’m looking for. If you are cold calling and you want to be calling people that fit in your criteria for your product or service that you’re selling. If you are doing internet marketing you want to make sure that your ads are in the demographic that fits your needs. One of the best ways of prospecting online is to find a niche. Finding a niche is very important for your ability to pinpoint an area that you can target in on. Look for niches with in your industry that you can Prospect in. So make sure that you know exactly what you’re looking for. Make sure that you have the tools needed and that you have the skills needed.

I hope this helps you in some way shape or form either out hunting gold and or out prospecting for your business. You only need to find a couple of big nugget to make your day a wonderful day of hunting gold. And your only looking for one or two very good quality winners to set your business on fire.
