viral campaign

I’m sure you have heard the term “viral marketing.” Not really quiet sure what it is or what it means?

One thing is for certain “viral marketing” has nothing to do with computer viruses. It is a term to describe marketing your business with information products that can get passed around the Internet, such as videos, eBooks, podcasts, special reports, forwarded emails, and more. Below I will touch on some viral marketing tips to help you better get your business out there on the web. A great website you can read the rest of the store at http://karistlouis.com/

Viral Campaign

Even the very best viral marketing campaign, whether it be a video or an article, will not do well without the right seeding. This means putting your viral campaigncreation into the right places so it gets picked up and distributed around. I’ve seen many of really high quality viral campaign fail horribly. This is because they did not get traction and therefore did not get seen by enough people to gather momentum to continue spreading.

A viral campaign needs to have the right characteristics in order to spread effectively at all. Not only do you need to give your campaign massive exposure at the start you also need to make sure that the campaign has the appeal of the web users.

The biggest question you need to ask yourself before you create your viral campaign is ‘why would people want to spread this?’ It needs to have the qualities necessary for success. It needs to have some appeal so people will want to share it on social media sites. You need to find a topic that is going to get a reaction from people and get them talking. Most Virel campaigns fail and others that were not intended to be a viral campaign become one.

Done right your viral marketing campaign will take on a life of its own. The goal is the butterfly effect, meaning that everyone who reads the campaign becomes a spokesman for your information. If enough people become spokesmen then the campaign can really snowball.

The most common ways for you to get a viral campaign started is to use online communities as leverage. They can provide a launching point for the idea you’ve brainstormed. With the right exposure and if the content hits the right nerve with people the initial group can unknowingly cause it to be seen by tens to hundreds of thousands of viewers, quite rapidly.

Ideas to help fuel a viral campaign:

  • Digg/Reddit/StumbleUpon/Delicious: If your viral campaign becomes popular on one of these sites it will get seen by thousands of people. viral marketingThis could be enough to get your viral campaign started. These networks are the connectors of the web.
  • Twitter: Having the right person of authority tweet your campaign will have a snowball effect. The twit will travel throughout Twitter and into other social media sites.
  • Blogs: If you have relationships with people with a large following, people with authority and they will mention your story on their blog, this will give your campaign large chance for success. Partnering with them and reaching into their community is a great resource.
  • Social media power: Social media is the power on the net. Leverage it to help seed viral campaigns. There are many options to seed viral campaign, including Facebook, twitter and YouTube etc

Depending on the budget and the time available, you should be willing to use as many sources as possible at the same time. All-out massive action in every direction you can think of, including emailing and advertising. If you can create a mix of tactics to help seed the campaign, you give it the highest chance of spreading.

Smart Goal Setting

Smart Goal setting, Example of Smart goal setting

Smart Goal Setting

Specific

A goal is not a wish or a dream. A goal has to be written down. A smart goal setting practice is setting goals every day. I would like to pay off my bills or I would like to have money in my bank account are not good example of smart goal setting. I want to have one hundred thousand dollars in my bank account on Jan 1st 2013. That’s a specific goal. I will contact 5 new prospects a day for the next 30 days. That is a good example of smart goal setting.

Measurable

Your goal needs to be measurable.  Bad goal setting “I will talk to people every day about my business” The correct way to set a measurable goal is ” I will talk to 5 people today about my product or opportunity. Bad – ” I will lose weight this year”   good – “I will lose 50 pounds this year”

Attainable

Smart goal setting consists of goals that are obtainable. If you have never made 50k a year chances are you should not set a goal to make a million this year. If you have never prospected 2 people a week you should not set a goal to prospect 10 a week. Your goal’s need to stretch you, but not insult you.

Realistic

Realistic runs in the same form as measurable. I like to teach team members to stretch, but be honest. The subconscious mind needs to believe you have a chance to reach the goal or it will not help you reach it.

Timely

A Goal with out a date on it is a wish. You must have smart goal setting to reach your goals. Set a time on your goals. I will on this date. I will talk to 2 people a day. I will recruit two new team members every week. I will lose 10 pounds in 30 days. Put a date or a time on your goals.

How I help team members with smart goal setting.

First we talk about what they want to accomplish. Then I talk about what it will take to get there. We talk about if they are willing to do what it will take. It’s like setting a goal to save $30,000 this year, but not agreeing to put $577 a week away. Chances are you aren’t going to reach your goal.

Smart Goal Setting Example

Set your goals backwards. If you want to save $30,000 a year. Don’t focus on the $30K it’s too big. Work backwards. Focus on saving $2,308 a month. Then go even more focus on saving $577 a week and saving $82.43 a day.   You must bridge the gap between where you are now and where you are going. If you want to make money online, but you have never set up a website or a blog. You need to set a goal to start blogging and learning SEO.

Smart goal setting is the way to a more prosperous life

Set a goal to set smart goals and watch your goals become reality.

How to Retire Early

How to retire. You will work 98000 hours before you can retire.

How To Retire

Did you know we are in the middle of an Entrepreneurial revolution?

Today and the next 5 to 10 years will be the largest number of people becoming Entrepreneurs then ever before. With the crash of the economy people will move from working a JOB to owning their own business. People what to know how to retire.

Remember the industrial revolution? When people moved from the farms to the factories. The same thing is happening now with the Entrepreneurial revolution. The long ago fairytale of working 20 to 30 years for one company and retiring and living happily ever after is a thing of the past. The need for an additional income sources to retire has never been bigger.

To talk a little about why this will happen and how to retire let’s look at a few things.

With the crash of the economy you have fewer and fewer companies matching deposits into a retirement account, more and more companies are making the employee pay more of their medical benefits, the day of a company paid retirement plan are all but gone. Even if your company does still have a pension plan most people will never see it. Why you ask? Because the average person will change jobs every 5 to 7 years and never end up with a plan on how to retire.

How To Retire

Do Fear never retiring?

The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reports that people born between 1957 and 1964 held an average of 11 jobs from ages 18 to 44. On average, men held 11.4 jobs and women held 10.7 jobs. 25% percent held 15 jobs or more, while 12% held four jobs or less.

If you keep changing carriers it makes it harder to acquire a retirement. I know everyone believes that this is the job they will finely be able to develop a retirement plan only to find you are outscores or replaced by a merger or buyout or just flat out someone did not like you for whatever reason. You see almost know one works for 20 to 30 years at one company anymore.

So will all that said it’s just common knowledge that people will need to look for ways to add an income.

So How To Retire?

More and more people are looking at home based businesses as a way to build a good retirement plan. People that normally would not have looked at a Network Marketing or MLM business are now joining and cashing in on all the years of networking and developed skills. This is how many will retire.

The home-based business industry is growing massively.

work from home to retire

Stay at home moms are looking for ways to stay home. They are moving to the Internet to make money. And a lot of money. People that once had a good brick and mortar business, but closed the doors in the last few years are now looking for ways to keep from getting a JOB.

Home-based business is the next DOT COM boom.

Paul Zain Pilsner says in the next 5 years there will be over 500 millionaires coming from the homebased business industry.

What is homebased business? Network Marketing, MLM, affiliate marketing. Names like Avon, Mary Kay Amway, MonaVie and many more.

Home based business is a great way for you to find your way on How To Retire.

How To Retire

How To Retire

If you are looking for a retirement plan and need help. I can show you the way.

I was a general contractor for 20+ years and I had no idea how I was going to retire. But after a year and a half in my home based business I more than matched my construction income and was able to hang up my contractors licence and all the stress that went with it. Now I help other people learn how to retire.

JFK had no idea

JFK gave a speech in 1962, I was just six months old. In this speech he talks about how fast scientific knowledge doubles every 12 years. WOW it doubles every 12 seconds now. Just think about it. You can put thousands of reams of doc’s on one flash drive. It would take a warehouse to hold all the information you can put on one little flash drive. There are people living today that in their lifetime have seen the invention of cars, telephone, TV, electricity, a man on the moon and now cell phones that record better movies then most cameras, the Internet, Facebook, Twitter and buying and selling without leaving the home.

Millions of people are making millions of dollars online with a click of a mouse and a push of a button.

Times are changing and you need to keep up. It all happens so quickly it seems like a blur. I remember as a boy one day my mother said. “Vincent there will be a time when we will not need cash, all we will do is swipe a card and the money will transfer”. That was in the early 70s. I remember mom writing checks now it seems strange to see someone write a check. Just the other day a lady was writing a check and I thought to myself. “really a check, come on it’s time to move forward” LOL.

What once took a thousand years now take milliseconds. Newspapers are almost a thing of the past. I don’t even have a home phone anymore. It’s getting very hard to think about where we are going. What is next?

Are we headed to a life like the Jetsons?

How about business? Block Buster struggling, Borders out of business. Commerce is moving online and back to customer service is king.

You have Network Marketing growing very rapidly. Affiliate Marketing for everything you can imagine and a lot of people making a lot of money at it. I remember the first time I heard about Ebay. I thought “no one will buy from someone they don’t know from across the country and pay online. That will never work” WOW was I wrong.

Heck I built an international business in eight different countries and I have never traveled to any of the countries. I helped launch a business in India and introduced the opportunity to thousands of people and I did it  all over the Internet. You can build a business that never sleeps all over the internet.

Kindal, Iphones, ebooks, Blogs, Skype. I sure wish my mother was around with Skype. She would have loved to see and talk to her grandchildren on Skype.

But with all this fast-paced business movement remember that there are a few things that will always shine. In the long run People will always stick with quality over price. Customer serves will always effect your business Good or Bad. And a smile will always keep a customer. Don’t get all caught up in the Internet and forget to reach-out and touch someone belly-to-belly, face-to-face. Even if it has to be on Skype. The eyes are the window to the soul.

In this speech JFK talked about the quest to go to the Moon and reaching for that GOAL. The Bible says “A man without a vision will parish” Just think how far-fetched it seemed to so many people to send a rocket to outer space land on the moon and then come back home.

What is your dream? Is your vision out of this world? I once heard “have a big dream the worst that will happen is a small dream will come true. There is nothing that is not possible. You can reach any dream you reach for. Your visions are only limited by your own self imposed limitations. You have within you everything it will take to achieve your visions and dreams. Reach for the moon and hit the stars. You are a winner.

It’s Not Good Enough to Write Your Goals Down

Your problem is to bridge the gap between where you are now and the goals you intent to reach~Earl Nightingale

To really be able to focus on your goals you must refine them to the smallest common denominator.

Write out your goals then take your goals one at a time and work backwards with the goal.

If you are a Realtor and want to sell X number of houses or make X number of dollars this year you must first realize how many listings you must have to sell a home, how many customers looking to buy a home to actually sell one. How you will get your customers or listings. What form of prospecting you plan to do. How many prospects you will contact each day to give you how many contracts you will get per week to how many homes you will sell each week. You must know what your daily method of operation is going to be.

If you’re in Network Marketing and want to reach a certain rank or make X amount of money this year. You must work backwards to find your daily method of operation. You must bridge the gap between where you are now and where you are going. You must have stepping stones to measure your progress. If you want to reach let’s say Diamond this year. You need to decide how many plans do you need to do a week to get one sign up? How many contacts you need to get one plan. How are you going to find these contact. What is your plan of action to find people to contact about your opportunity or product. How many sign ups you will need to find one business builder. You must have marking points of accomplishment. By this date you need to be at this rank or that rank.

If you want to ride in a bike race, but you don’t have a race bike or the other proper equipment. You need to work backwards. Not just how many miles you will ride and work up to, but also the detail needed to really compete in that race.

You must write all this down in your handwriting not on the computer. There is something about your mind seeing it as it’s being written down. This is your plan of action.  If you are not willing to do the daily activities that need to be done to reach your goal you need to reset your goal to fit your activity. If you don’t refine your goals to a daily method of operation you will get discouraged and your subconscious will not believe you can do it and you will not achieve that goal. For most people our subconscious mind cannot see where you plan to go so you must take smaller chunks that the subconscious can believe than it will put you in a place to win. How do you eat an elephant? One bit at a time.

Listen, don’t make this another year of missed goals or your basic attempt at writing your goals down and not accomplishing any of them. If you want different results you must do something different. What got you here will not get you there. This is the year you make a change. I believe in you.

Quitters, Campers and Climbers

There’s a story told about a mountain in the Swiss Alps.

Half way up this mountain there is a stop called the Halfway House, named this because it was located exactly halfway up one of the mountains. People climbing the peak would stop to rest before continuing on their journey. About half of the climbers would say, “Hey, we’re just going to wait here. We’re going to settle in. The rest of you go on ahead and we’ll catch you on the way back.” Everyday about half of the climbers would go on up the mountain and the other half would linger behind. Those who chose to remain would wave goodbye to the others and then they’d spend the next hour or so playing games, relaxing and talking, and indulging in more coffee and desserts. But around 3:30 or 4:00 in the afternoon, something always happened among the group that decided to stay behind.

Members of the group would begin to go over to the large picture window, look up at the top of the peak, and wonder about the others.

The atmosphere would go from laughter and happiness to one of melancholy. Despondency would set in as they wondered about their decision to forfeit the rest of the climb. They realized that they also would be at the summit if they would have just kept climbing. They chose to forfeit excellence for the mediocre. And in that moment they would realize – they weren’t going to achieve the goal they’d set that morning, the goal of reaching the top of the mountain.

Many times as we are climbing our mountain called Success we run into halfway houses.

It may be that we get a new job that gives us a little comfort like sitting in the halfway house nice and worm looking out at the cold. We get complacent and we stop striving for the mountain top (your success). Sometimes we get a little success and we rest at that halfway house.

Many times we get to the halfway house and continue onward toward our goal to peak the summit of our mountain. We start pursuing success. Then, we hit an obstacle a storm hits and we get knocked around. Time passes and we never get back on the mountain.

With success like mountain climbing, there are Quitters, Campers and Climbers.

Quitters start on the journey to success. Some even pound there chest and say: “I’m going all the way to the top you can count on me!” and quit never really giving themselves time to learn to climb. Quitters never blame it on themselves they blame the economy, the opportunity, the timing, the weather, their sponsor, the company. But never themselves. Quitters never win and winners never quit. Quitters never even get to the halfway house. Quitters say: “it will never work”: “so few ever make it to the top”. Quitters will start the journey, they quit and then try to stop others from pursuing the goal. Quitters will try to get others to quit because quitters like company.

Then there are the Campers.

I have been a Camper. It’s very cozy in the Halfway house worm by the fire. Living on your past successes absorbing the accolades of your past successes. Sometimes Climbers will set their goal to low and reach the lower goal and camp there not really being satisfied, but getting comfortable at that goal. The thing about campers is, they are like climbers, but get stuck in the Halfway house. Many climbers will get stuck as a camper and sit cozy by the fire of their success and never live up to their true potential. Many campers will get sick of camping and get out there and climb to the TOP. But it’s hard to start over again. It’s hard to get re-motivated to get back to climbing. It’s tough out there. There are storms along the way. But a true climber will get out there anyway. There are two times when you will be most vulnerable to camping: when you suffer a great failure and when you’ve just had a great success. If you are climbing be very cautious not to be trapped into becoming a camper.

Now for the Climbers. Climbers will not let anything get in their way.

Some climbers won’t even stop at the Halfway house. Climbers never complain about the climb. That’s what they’re there for. Climbers don’t get sidetracked. Climbers will never settle for anything but success. The Top does not need to be the top seller in your company or the top of your comp. plan the TOP is a personal thing. But don’t get fooled thinking you are a climber and have reached your TOP if in your heart you know you’re just camping. Climbers will climb all the way. Climbers focus on the goal not the challenges. Climbers know they will start the climb with many, but it will get lonely fast. There is plenty of room at the peak. Few will make it. But as the climber gets to the peak many will look up and dream of being up there with the climber. Many will wish they never stopped. Many campers and quitters will look up as you summit your peak thinking “that did not take as long as I thought it would”: “WOW I could have made it with him / her”: “If I would have just kept climbing I could be there by now instead of camping here”.

If you chose to climb your mountain to success. Focus on the GOAL. The summit is the only place to be. Focus on taking one step every day and Never look back and wander what it would be like if you just kept climbing. Daily deeds done daily build character. Too many people choose to live in What If Land. Your life is worth it. Don’t ever stop. The pain of regret is more painful than the pain of discipline.
